Trying a Dark Theme

I’m a chronic theme-fiddler, and I thought I’d try to use a version of the zenburn colour theme that I use in emacs and vim. It’s designed to be low-contrast, and easy on the eyes for extended use. Zenburn works well for me in Org mode (see here), so I thought I’d give it a go. If light-on-dark bothers you, or anything else come to that, let me know in the comments.

The WordPress theme is Parabola from cryout, which is fantastically customizable. The colour choices from the zenburn palette are my own.

  1. I like it, but there’s a weird quirk: when I read it in Mr. Reader in my ipad I have to do a bit of a horizontal scroll (I see “Zen” and have to scroll to see burn).

It’s fine in safari on the same ipad (retina running ios7 (beta)).

    Just FYI.

  2. Thanks for letting me know. I think that setting is too far down in the guts of the Parabola theme for me to fix, but I’ll pass on the report to them.

  3. I hate white on black schemes, I’m afraid. This is better than most (less contrasty) but I’m still itching to click the Readability button.
